Your player abandons his job after inheriting a farm in Pelican Town to live a peaceful life.
Pelican Town is such a cozy place because of how it looks and its people. It really does feel like a small town.
Gameplay
What you'll actually do
The main gameplay loop is you waking up everyday to either farm, mine, fish, along with other things. You have total freedom to do whatever you want, the only issue is you have a limited time in a day (roughly around 15 minutes real time).
You can talk to all NPCs in Pelican Town and build relationships with them like gifting, getting married etc.
There are also requests from the community of Pelican Town where you can complete and gain some cash.
There are also calendar events that happen in stardew valley that really adds life to the game and make you feel like you are a part of the community.
My take
Why I keep thinking about it
It respects your time while being endlessly generous with content. There's no fail state, no pressure (except maybe how much time you have in a day lol). The soundtrack is amazing, the town feels alive, i felt so much joy playing this game.
