The Sequel to What Got Me into Roguelikes!
“Everything from the First Game but Better”
About the game
What's the game?
You play as Melinoë, Zagreus' sister, on a mission to take down Chronos, the Titan of Time, who has captured Hades himself.
The tone is darker than the first game but still has that signature Supergiant charm. The writing is just as sharp and the characters are just as lovable.
Gameplay
What you'll actually do
Same core idea as the first game. You fight through areas, collect boons from the gods, and try to make it to the end without dying. When you die, you go back to your hub and try again. But this time theres a lot more to do between runs. Theres gathering resources, crafting tools, and incantations that permanently change how the game works.
The combat has a bigger focus on magic this time around. Melinoë plays differently from Zagreus, shes more about casting and area control while still being fast and fluid.
My take
Why I keep thinking about it
I loved the first Hades so i was worried the sequel wouldnt hit the same. It absolutely does. Melinoë is a completely different character from Zagreus and that makes it feel fresh instead of just "more Hades."
The relationships and story progression between runs is even better this time. I found myself wanting to die sometimes just to go back and talk to everyone. The new gods and characters are great additions and the returning ones feel like catching up with old friends.
I love how it kind of plays like the first game but much much smoother. The devs improved it in every single way.
i beat the game pre nerf ;)
